It is so important to Chinese people to go to any length to entertain and provide food and drink, in abundance, to family and friends. Celebrations allow people to put their best foot forward. Ancient rituals and practices create an atmosphere of happiness, joy and, of course, lots of fun. You would never hear the bride or grooms family complain or express grumblings about the cost of a wedding. It would cause a ‘loss of face’. The wedding is all about the families joining together in the spirit of joy and hope. That is my ‘two cents’ or ’5 RMB”s worth!!
